The much awaited Spring Equinox in Korea has come and gone and the weather has suddenly turned warm. All of a sudden it was around 14C with the warmest of 20C. The warm sun shining with the cool wind lasted for a few days and turned back winter all over again from 8C to 3C. The Spring Cleaning got held up and everyone was in their puffer jackets back again except for the cherry blossoms that didn’t mind the cold.
Meanwhile in Manila and other regions across the Philippines, the election campaigns have kicked off reflecting the super hot weather and the race to the finish line. News agencies and social media have certainly a lot of content to feature from the campaigns and controversies to the road rage coverage in Antipolo and of course, the much awaited coverage of the Crimes Against Humanity case of the former president. As I watch the news and try to be productive during the Spring Break, I wonder if it’s possible to actually educate people who still think that fake news is true and that the former president can still go home (before the trial that is), or is this just a think of the past for a lot of Filipinos – critical thinking.
